Are PPC ads Right for you?
Once most new webmasters ready their new websites then naturally they want others to see it. The question is, should you pay to get visitors to your new web site
There is no easy answer to this question . There are a number of factors to take into consideration before deciding on whether to spend money on PPC advertising. It would be foolish to say it is a waste of money, otherwise some of our major companies wouldn’t get involved in this kind of advertising.
Some believe that at first it’s good to employ Pay per click advertising, just to get your site ‘noticed’, then after a while your website should be indexed in the search engines anyway, so that’s the time to stop paying for advertising . The problem is that Google says that having Adsense on your site, or joining their Adwords program, doesn’t mean your site will get indexed any quicker by them . So, these advertising systems aren’t any shortcut to being listed by the Google, Yahoo, or any of the other search engines out there by any way. Others think that all paid promotion is the same as throwing money into a fire , as many people in all probability don’t break even, and some in fact lose a lot of money in the process.
So, you`ll need to ask yourself how much money you have to use for your advertising budget . Are you marketing low value or high value products or services? Is yours purely an informational site which won’t actually make you any money however many visitors you get ? In other words, if you don’t have much to spend – and few new site owners do – then probably you should stay out of PPC advertising, because it really can run away with your money . And if what you are selling is low cost, or you are merely providing information, then why pay for others to come to your site? You will just end up paying out more than you take in, which doesn’t make much business sense .
Don’t despair though . There are hundreds of ways in which you can promote your site, all for little or even no cost via various SEO methods or even programs like Forex4free. Consider social media networking , promoting your website via sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn to name just a few. Article marketing is a tried and trusted means to get links back to your site , and you can, as a writer , build up quite a devoted following over time. Post on message boards that have the same topics as your site . Sensible, informative and on topic commenting on blogs is another way to get people to visit your site, and can help you get seen by the search engines .
Although PPC advertising is right for some, and can bring in a lot of business , you need to weigh up all the factors to ensure it is a viable option for you . If you believe it is, tread carefully and test the waters first, and above all do thorough research on which keywords to use.
